Tuthill’s EX ATEX vacuum boosters are designed to be able to perform to high-quality standards specifically for hazardous areas as defined in Directive 2014/34/EU and ISO/IEC 80079-34/36/37 standards. A hazardous area is defined as an area in which potential or existing explosive atmospheres are present in quantities that require special precaution for the construction and use of equipment. The EX ATEX series vacuum boosters are designed for critical applications in the chemical and petrochemical industries meeting Zone 1&2 requirements for Gas Groups IIA, IIB & IIB+H2 while operating in T3-T1 temperature classes. Vacuum boosters are used to supercharge vacuum pumps to greatly extend pump performance. This allows for much faster pumping speeds and deeper vacuum levels. The vacuum booster increases the CFM of the vacuum system therefore reducing the evacuation time.
